With this quote begins the passion of a Spanish girl by the great English autor Jane Austen, for her and her whole world. It was the beginning of a story, I read more, I started with my curiosity about the Regency Period, on English manners… all the world she had created and enclosed in each of her books.

I´m lying if I said I don´t like most aspects of XIX, in fact belong to a cultural association, the Sociedad Victoriana Augusta (SVA) wich study with attention the nineteenth century. However, perhaps under the influence of Jane Austen, or the Napoleonic atmosphere in my city, i´ve made the regency era my favourite period. Thanks to SVA I started to sew my own gowns and dresses, i try to do it better day by day and investigate to do it properly.

A few years ago, researching in the internet I came to the website of Jane Austen Center in Bath, was a surprise to know that they made an annual festival in September, from that moment it was like a dream!, it´s true it was quite impossible , i´m here in Spain with my career at University, and my busy life.. But Jane Austen Festival have all… , first of all Bath it´s a Roman foundation knowed as Acquae Sulis and that´s something important for someone in love with History, then … it was in England, the best place in the world… and finally it was about Jane Austen!, just about it! . It was like complete a dream.



After three years my recreation group could go to the 11th Jane Austen Festival, but for different reasons I was unable to attend, but I was very very happy for them, because through their eyes I could feel and see all that gorgeus world. I never dreamed that less than a month ago I could have that same illusion, it was a big surprise!, and it´s real! And it´s my dream! And I can make it come true now, although I don´t know how start with all of this, I have a thousand ideas in my head!, I´ve started to sew , trying to collect all the information to do it well… and I began to have crazy ideas like a Jane Austen Festival in Spain in the future, why not?, maybe dreams come true despite adversity.
